Getting into hot water so you don't have to!
"No matter what the truth is, tell people that you are White and Christian."
My father raised me to hide my identity, and I can't blame him for that. Passing is a sacred privilege not afforded to every Native American, and it was dangerous to be a mixed Native when he was a child.
After the Black Lives Matters protests, I watched the Standing Rock protests with fire and excitement- we can finally protest? they won't kill us for it? What an exciting new world! I began to develop a passion for social justice, and learning how to add my voice to the conversation in a good way, but also to know when I need to amplify voices instead of speaking about my own experience.
I studied under Dr Brook Colley (Wasco, Warm Springs, Eastern Cherokee) and Brent Florendo (Wasco, Yakama, Warm Springs) at Southern Oregon University.
I am committed to Indigenous sovereignty, and the survivance and thrivance of Indigenous peoples around the world.
The future is beautifully Indigenous
I am passionate about making activities accessible for everyone, so everyone is included.
I earned my degree in Health, Physical Education, and Leadership at Southern Oregon University. A large portion of my studies included the care, rehabilitation, and prevention of sports injuries.
My experiences in health sciences have taught me the necessity of universal access to quality healthcare, healthy food, clean water and safe housing. We cannot expect desperate people to magically fix their lives, and studies show time and time again that when given appropriate access to resources, people are able to return to stability.
I am a 2 Spirit contrary. Much of my life is a dance between opposing realities. I don't try to be perfect, and I don't make moral judgements about mistakes, but I always move towards improvement.
My spirituality is very open, and I am present with people regardless of their interpretation of the divine energy. This means I amplify the voices of often excluded spiritual identities like Indigenous spiritualities, Luciferians, Demonolaters, and other Occultists.
We are not less for being from traditions mainstream religious institutions find offensive, but it does take special effort to make mainstream religious folks comfortable interacting with people they see as enemies.
If you have questions, comments, or would like to tell me where you think I'm spending eternity, please feel free to message me!
